Internal Brewsletter - October 2, 2019
YOU OUGHTA KNOW!
THE LEGION OF FUN PRESENTS….
BLIND TASTING SERIES
Come one, come all to the Tap Room or the Pub to be given beer…while blindfolded!
From Monday, October 7th to Sunday, October 13th, come into either the Tap Room or the Pub to taste select beers and then guess what those beers actually are! You’ll be given a sheet of paper to turn in where you list your answers. The winner will be announced on Monday, October 14th (the Monday after it starts). If there is more than one winner, we will have a showdown…winner take all...and by all we mean a gift from the goody drawer. 😉
Instructions to Serving Staff:
Pub Bartenders: Goody will give you a list of beers that you will pour for people throughout the week. Don’t forget to have them wear the blindfold when you’re pouring, we don’t want any lookie-loos!
Tap Room Staff: You will be given the list of what to pour by Keke. Again, don’t forget to have the people wear the blindfolds while pouring!
For Pub Bartenders or Tap Room Staff, to participate just go to the other location (i.e. Pub➡Tap Room, Tap Room➡Pub).
Please only submit one entry from one location. That way everyone has a fair shot at winning!
Also feel free to share your taster flight with someone who is already there and also wants to participate. Less glassware=less dishes=helping out the earth! If you have any questions, please let Julia know via HotSchedules.
Lastly - we would like to thank our very own Dylan Prentiss for this idea! Thanks Dylan, you rock!

LEGION OF FUN
As most of you probably saw, Julia sent out a HotSchedules message about the newly created fun committee - Legion of Fun! In the interest of making sure everyone is aware, though, below is her note, in addition to a committee list/breakdown so you know who to go to if you have ideas!
“Hey all!
So the Legion of Fun is officially underway. And we want to invite you all to be able to participate when you want! We want your voices, opinions, thoughts, and anything else you feel like providing when it comes to team work. So we decided to our fun books at all 3 locations so you guys can write in it and we can try and implement your ideas too!
So these are their locations:
A Gold sparkly Fun Book lives on the cork board at the pub.
The pink sparkly Fun Book will live on the rack left of the shoe station at Caves.
And the Black diamond Fun Book will live by the rest of the logs (the beer log, olcc,, etc, under the bar) at the Tap room.
PLEASE show each other where these live, because I know we all don’t know these places like the back of our hand. I want you all to feel encouraged to write in these and we will fallow up with you and your ideas!
Thanks all.
Let the good times roll.
Júlia”
Here are the LoF representatives and their respective departments:
Julia - QUEEN OF ALL
Addison - Hosts and Food Runners
Goody - Management FOH
Fabian - Pub Servers
Keke - Tap Room FOH
Rachel - Caves FOH
Adrian - Pub, Caves, and Tap Room BOH
Paulie - Management and Pub BOH
Tivey - Prep and Tap Room BOH
Danny - Pub and Production Brewery
Matt Larsen - Distro and Production Brewery
We want people to reach out with ideas and questions, and should feel encouraged to do so, and we want them to know their respective representative!
CLIMATE JUSTICE MARCH & RALLY
Just a reminder that this Friday, September 27th is the Climate Justice March & Rally! A crew from Block 15 will be meeting at the Pub at 2:30pm.
Block 15 & Caves will compensate any employee (at their current hourly rate) for their time participating in the March & Rally. We ask that all employees wear a Block 15 or Caves shirt to identify ourselves as a cohesive, sustainably minded group! Please be aware that if you are scheduled but want to participate in either event, you must take the proper routes to getting your shift (or part of it) covered accordingly.
If you would like to participate MEET AT THE PUB AT 2:30. We will then walk as a group to 9th & Madison to join other community members. The march will start at 3pm and last for about 25 minutes.
Join the March and Rally to show how many in our community want a just transition to a livable future for all of human society!
Additionally, here is a link to a pretty informative checklist on Ways to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint!
BLOCK 15 TAILGATE + BEAVER FOOTBALL GAME
We are raffling off a handful of tickets for some lucky employees to the OSU vs. Utah game Saturday, October 12th (time of game TBD)! If your name is selected, you will receive one ticket and will also be invited to a Block 15 tailgate at Reser Stadium before kickoff (time of tailgate will depend on the start of the game)!
To enter your name in the raffle, please fill out this form. One entry per person please.
The deadline to enter your name in the raffle is Tuesday, October 1st at 5pm, which will give time for scheduling managers to schedule accordingly.
Tailgate will include:
- Games (corn hole, can jam, arcade basketball, etc.)
- Food (nacho bar, oysters, sausages, pulled pork sandos, cookies)
- Delicious beer!
-And other sweet tailgating things!
Good luck, and GO BEAVS!
BLOCKING HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS
In general, let’s try to stay aware of blocking high traffic areas at all three of our locations, regardless if you’re working or not. Areas like around the Pub host stand/entrance to kitchen, the Tap Room bus station, the hallway to the restrooms/kitchen/employee area at Caves, and any stairwells should not be a place to congregate in. Try to make your fellow-coworkers lives easier by not being in the way!

YOU OUGHTA KNOW!
CLIMATE ACTION WEEK
As you know, Block 15 take its footprint on this earth seriously. Climate change is a critical issue and our sustainability plan is always evolving, as we constantly search for unique and effective ways to create the highest quality beer and food in a more sustainable manner.
It was brought to Kristen A.’s attention by our very own Caves line cook, Sierra Absher, that September 20th-27th marks Climate Action Week. Sierra took the time to present her with information and ideas on how Block 15 could get involved in our community (thanks Sierra!). The Corvallis Climate Action Alliance has organized a Climate Justice March & Rally on Friday, September 27th, and we’re going to get involved!
There are two ways to get involved, and you can do either:
Come make some posters with us!
Block 15 is hosting a pre-march and rally poster-making event this Sunday, September 22nd from 2-4pm in the Barrel Room at the Tap Room. Materials, food, and drinks will be provided. This is a great way to hang out with co-workers with free food and beverages while supporting a super important issue!March & Rally with us!
Block 15 & Caves will compensate any employee (at their current hourly rate) for their time participating in the March & Rally on Friday, September 27th. We ask that all employees wear a Block 15 or Caves shirt to identify ourselves as a cohesive, sustainably minded group! Please be aware that if you are scheduled but want to participate in either event, you must take the proper routes to getting your shift (or part of it) covered accordingly.
March & Rally Details - Friday, September 27th
2:45 pm: Gather at meeting locations (for us, Block 15 Pub)
3:00 pm: Marches begin
3:45 pm: Rally Starts at Riverfront Park
5:00 pm: Disperse
The three marches will converge at the Riverfront Park. Expect to march approximately 25 minutes. Marchers are encouraged to make their own signs for the march and rally. Fighting the climate breakdown is about much more than emissions and scientific metrics – it’s about fighting for a just and sustainable world that works for everyone. If we are going to fight for this, we need everyone. Join the March and Rally to show how many in our community want a just transition to a livable future for all of human society!
For more information, visit their web site!
If you’re interested in adding the pre-march/rally poster making event, please RSVP here so we can have an idea of how many people to expect!

The 5 year mug discount policy has been adjusted a bit to now include the discount on draft beer at Caves (up to $5.50), and this applies to both Block 15 and Caves 5 year employees!

TEAM BUILDING/FUN COMMITTEE
Over the past few weeks, Julia (with Kristen A.’s support) has been spearheading a team building/fun committee (official name TBD) for both Block 15 and Caves! It will be a committee focusing on team building, fostering good company culture, and promoting beneficial communication between all team members. More details will be available as the committee gets going, so be on the lookout for more information from Julia! Go team!
BLOKTOBERFEST PRE-SALE PACKAGES
We are going to be selling pre-sale packages for Bloktoberfest this year, and they will go live within the next day or so!
The main package will be $35 and include entry ($5 value), choice of mug (either the 1L glass mug or .5L ceramic mug) and $25 in $5 gift cards.
Additional items can be pre-purchased as well:
2019’s Bloktoberfest t-shirt - $15 (choice of either charcoal or teal)
Additional $5 gift cards - $30 worth of cards for $25
We’re hoping that this will encourage people to pre-buy entrance, mugs, and $5 gift cards and help expedite the lines inside the tent. Pre-purchased items can be picked up at the main tent entrance on whichever day the customer decides to attend the fest.
Packaged can be purchased here, and we’re limiting the main entrance package to 200 so we can ensure we don’t run out of mugs before the fest has even started!
Please feel free to let me (Paige) know if you have any questions!!
STAFF PIC(K)S SERIES
The Marketing department is rolling out a new social media series called “Staff Pic(k)s.” Once a month Kevin will randomly choose a staff member from any of our three locations to talk about their favorite beer or their current go-to beer, and just chat in general! The feature will then get put up on our Instagram and Facebook.
If you’re interested in being part of the series, feel free to email Kevin to let him know!

*Here’s some background on Fresh & Local, First: Small scale farmers depend on farmers’ markets to sell their produce. Low income people depend on the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to feed their families. Fresh & Local, First! raises money to increase the value of SNAP at farmers’ markets, supporting both low income people and local food producers.
The People’s Pint for August raised $1,041.75 for Benton Habitat for Humanity! Woohoo!

YOU OUGHTA KNOW!
BLOKTOBERFEST 2019
Bloktoberfest dates were officially announced last week, both internally and publicly. We are still waiting on some of the finer details of Bloktoberfest, so the Facebook event and the web page (block15.com/bloktoberfest) will be continuously getting updated over the next few weeks as those details get finalized. Please visit the Facebook/web page periodically to ensure you are up to date on all the relevant information.
For example, the volunteer sign-up link went live today for folks to sign up for volunteer shifts. We also posted a teaser of this year’s ceramic .5L mugs!
FLICKER VIDEO SHOOT
The Marketing team is planning a Flicker promotional video shoot up at Mary’s Peak Campground next Wednesday, September 4th and they need some bodies! The exact details are TBD (they’ll be sent out in a HotSchedules message in the next few days) but keep it on your radar if you’re interested in participating - you’ll even get to taste Flicker before it’s even released! This is not a paid event, it’s just voluntary if you want to come hang out in the woods and help the Marketing team out. Again, stay tuned for more details!
BEND BREWFEST HONOR
Two weekends ago Block 15 attended the Bend Brewfest over in Bend, OR and had a great time. Every year the Fest has a People’s Choice award, and we won it this year for The Dab Lab, Desert High! We beat out 200 other beers, and join the ranks of Fort George, Sunriver and Goodlife, who are all past winners. Go team!
SAFETY COMMITTEE
The Safety Committee is looking for 2 more people to join the crew (it's an OSHA requirement that we have the committee and have meetings) Ideally they are looking for a FOH person that works both the Tap Room and the Pub, and then a Prep person who works at the Pub. However, any interested party who wants to stay safe AF and has a keen eye for things that need to be addressed at either location is welcome. The meetings are once a month, usually at the Pub, and are only for about 15 minutes or so.
If you’re interested, please let Sean Jolley know (sean@block15.com).

So, these beers will be released at both the Tap Room and the Pub on each day in the interest of menu printing, button making, transfers, etc. Technically the Oud Bruin is the monthly offering, but we will be selling it at the Pub as well (even though most other Monthly Releases are Tap Room only). Bloktoberfest 2019 dates are official and ready to be announced - this year it will be on Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th. Get ready to sling some beer and brats and pretzels!
BUDDY BEER TICKETS
Moving forward, we’re changing the way our buddy beer program is currently being handled. BUT DON’T FRET - if you would like to buy a beer for a coworker to thank them/acknowledge them/high five them, you still can! You will now purchase a $5 card at either the Pub or the Tap Room (which can then be used at either location as well). These cards will be treated exactly like a standard $5 card (and will look exactly the same), so you can give change when appropriate and treat them like cash.
Pub specific details:
Bought cards will now live on the staff appreciation board downstairs.
Please check in with a manager to purchase cards.
Tap Room specific details:
The location of bought cards is TBD at this point, but please check in with K10 or Abrew for the exact location!
There will now be a $5 gift card button in Square that you will use to ring up the cards when someone wants to purchase them.
Please ask a manager if you have any questions at all!

AUGUST PACKAGED BEER RELEASE
It’s almost the 1st of next month, and that means another monthly packaged beer release! August’s release includes Peach Punch (You in the Eye) and ʎɹɹǝqzzouS. Descriptions and pricing can be found below, and employees can start purchasing on Friday, August 2nd at the Tap Room.
Peach Punch (You in the Eye) - IPA w/ Peach & Apricot
Great Notion and Block 15 have teamed up again, blending techniques and ideas from both breweries to brew this luscious, fruit-forward IPA. Peach Punch! (You in the Eye) was fermented with peaches and apricots and dry-hopped with massive amounts of galaxy and mosaic hops.
7% ABV // Price: $4.50 plus deposit (price does not include employee 25% off) // 16oz can // Limit: 24 cans
ʎɹɹǝqzzouS - Wild Ale with Snozzberries
This blend of wild ales was matured in oak barrels on ripe snozzberries for a minimum of 31,557,624 seconds. For the first time, our 2019 blend features gigantilicious leviathan snozzberries—a wild-grown varietal that our brewers foraged from bramble patches at the base of Mount Penglai. This unusually large species of berry can easily reach snozzcumber-like sizes, enabling our brewers to condition each barrel on a single berry. Each snozzberry selected offered a unique fruity character— including raspberry, apricot, blackberry, papaya, and guava—creating a wonderfully tarty and fruitastic blend. // 6.5% ABV // Price: $11.50 (price does not include employee 25% off) // 500mL bottle // Limit: 12 bottles

PUB & TAP ROOM UPDATES
HOW TO TOAST/SERVE THE PERFECT BREAD
Since we house bake most of our bread, we want it to all come out perfect AF. So, in the interest of that happening at both the Pub and the Tap Room, Sarah has created a nifty bread guide. Please familiarize yourself with it and ensure that every time you drop any sort of bread, you’re taking good care of it and it’s getting served 👌.
FRONT OF HOUSE EDUCATION
As you all know, our Front of House Education program is an important piece of our company and our policies. We want this to be a fun and interactive series, but we also want you all to take it seriously and respect all the time and effort your badass educator puts into each class (and all the time and effort our dear Katy puts into creating and sustaining the program).
Once you pick up a house shift, that is now a scheduled shift and should be treated like any other. If you cannot make your shift, you are expected to call and let the manager on duty know.
We do our best to have about 10 people in each class, which is why there is a limit on house shifts. If a class is full and it is truly the only one you can attend, please check with Katy at least a day ahead of time to see if there is room. We don't want to say that you can't drop in, but at the same time we want to ensure that each educator has an appropriate class size. The best way to attend the class you want is to sign up early.
Please don't forget to read the informational write-up prior to the class, as many classes are an extension of the information!
If you have any questions, please let Katy know!

The masses have spoken, and Fluff is heading to Germany. The next iteration of Fluffhead will feature Hallertau Blanc hops! Keep an eye out for it in the coming weeks.
COMMUNITY TABLE @ THE TAP ROOM
In August we are going to start a program called “Community Table” that will be themed, family-style dinners held in the Barrel Room down at the Tap Room. These will be reservation only dinners for up to 20 guests, and it will be a prix fixe menu including beer pairings. We will aim to do these once a month from spring to fall, with the theme changing month to month.
Our first Community Table will be on Saturday, August 10th and the theme is a Hawaiian pig roast, with various other Hawaiian-style fixings - including shave ice!
Seth will be releasing this information on social media in the next day or two, so we wanted to make sure staff was prepared to answer any questions that come up. FOH staff at all locations, please direct guests to the social media postings as well as the web site, which is where they can make reservations to attend the dinner. If you get a question you don’t know the answer to, please direct them to paige@block15.com.

CAVES HAPPENINGS
MENU UPDATES
We are changing the preparation for our sirloin steak to be a more summery dish. We are still featuring a Painted Hills beef sirloin, but with a “Bloody Mary” cherry tomato salad, Parmesan potato puffs, and chimichurri.
From the Brunch menu we are changing up the Wild Mushroom Fricasse a bit. This dish will now feature rosemary roasted new potatoes, grilled fiddlehead ferns, a poached Winn Farms duck egg, Berliner Weisse cream, and harrisa.
BEHIND THE BAR UPDATES
We will have a couple great IPAs hitting the draft list in the next week. GoodLife Brewing’s G.Love & Special Sauce’s The Juice is a juicy IPA that maintains a crisp clarity to it.
Also, this year’s 3-Way IPA (Fort George, Ruse, and Cloudburst) will have different variations all summer. All the variations will be comprised of the same base beer, but dry hopped exclusively with a single hop variety. We will be rolling out the Idaho-7 variation shortly!
There’s also a couple new pages to our bottle beer selection. Make sure to chat with our staff and check out their favorites to see what your fellow co-workers are drinking! We are also featuring a Cellar Sale, where you can buy great beer at a discounted price. Help us clear out some inventory to make way for new beers!

FLUFF’S TRAVELS
Fluff, our intrepid world traveler, is setting sail once again to discover a brand-new dry-hop addition to Fluffhead IPA! Last year the Block 15 community voted to send Fluff on an expedition to New Zealand, where he returned with Wai-iti hops in tow.
This summer, Fluff is once again looking for guidance on the geographical inspiration that will drive the dry-hop for this iteration of Fluff’s Travels IPA, our one-off variation of Fluffhead. Head to block15.com/fluff to vote for where Fluff should travel to next!
EMPLOYEE FIRE SALES
Beth will no longer be doing fire sales at the Tap Room on Tuesdays, and instead going forward will hopefully have some variation of an online shop for you to be able to purchase apparel. She will keep everybody updated as to when it goes live and how to access it, and will let you know if anything changes!
Also, as an FYI, pre-orders for fall apparel will be right around the corner, so make sure to keep an eye out for the order form in upcoming newsletters! You won’t want to miss out on this merch…it’s going to be 🔥!

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY DATA GATHERING

Due to this, we will need to gather some information that we have not collected in the past. Please take a quick minute and fill out this form. It will only take about 30 seconds to complete, but we need to have the data on file ASAP.
If you have any questions, please direct those to Chris at Chris@block15.com.
BARMHOUSE IN THE HOUSE
Barmhouse draft and bottles are being released tomorrow at both the Tap Room and the Pub. This beer is a cooperation between us, de Garde, Upright Brewing, and the Ale Apothecary and is “equal portions of barrel matured offerings from each brewery were specially selected to produce a blend that celebrates the creative freedom found in the wide-open farmhouse style.” The bottles are $20, and all profits are going to charity (that charity is TBD at this point, though!). Pretty cool!
*Also, Barmhouse is a play on words of the word “farmhouse” using the term “barm” which means the “frothy stuff on top of beer that gets collected for next ferment” if a customer asks what this farmhouse-barnyard hybrid word is!

Arugula & Freekeh Salad
Arugula and cooked freekeh tossed in our shallot-Dijon vinaigrette and topped with grape tomatoes, grilled zucchini, sumac spiced chickpeas, labneh and fresh mint. / $7.50
Again, this salad is meant to be an entree/meal-sized salad. A half portion will be available on the Secret Menu for $4.00 if someone wants it as a side to their sandwich, etc. The procedure can be found here.
Also, since there are some unique items on the salad, below is a glossary of terms:
Labneh (LEB-neigh) - Yogurt that has been strained until it has the consistency of soft cheese, typically served with savory seasonings as a dip or spread.
Freekah (FREE-kah) - Unripened or "green" wheat that has been roasted and crushed into small pieces, used especially in Middle Eastern cooking. Has a similar texture to bulgur.
Sumac - The sumac bush, native to the Middle East, produces deep red berries, which are dried and ground into coarse powder. Ground sumac is a versatile spice with a tangy lemony flavor, although more balanced and less tart than lemon juice.

BREWERY TOURS AT THE PRODUCTION FACILITY
Starting in mid-July, we are going to begin giving tours of the Production Facility here at the Tap Room! These were just announced on social media a few days ago, but we are still trying to iron out the kinks and finalize some details. As such, you’ll get updated with information as it gets finalized so you can answer any questions that customers have. In the meantime, though, if a customer asks a question you don’t know the answer to, please just let them know more information will follow as the first tour gets closer.
The tours will start on Friday, July 12th, with tours happening at 5pm every Friday. Starting Saturday, August 3rd we will begin Saturday tours at 2pm. Tours will run for approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on group size, questions, etc.
Customers will be able to pre-sign up for the tours on the website (website address TBD), although they are not required to (so folks can just walk in at 4:50 and hop on a tour if they'd like). We are capping the group size at 15 people, and the pre-sign up will be capped at 10 people (so we always leave 5 spots for walk-ins). If there are more than 15 people interested in a tour, it will be a case by case basis on whether we give a second tour or not. At this point, minors will be allowed on tours, but we may limit that to either 12 and older or babies who are in a baby carrier. We're going to try to deter toddlers who can't easily be contained.
These tours will be free to the public, and no reservation or pre-sign-up is necessary. They will be offered at the Tap Room only.
**Also, next Friday, July 5th at 5pm we are going to do a test-run employee only tour run by Nick Arzner (with Seth also contributing). Please feel free to come and join in on the tour so we can work out the kinks and you can give some feedback!

BREWERY TOURS AT THE PRODUCTION FACILITY
Starting in mid-July, we are going to begin giving tours of the Production Facility here at the Tap Room! These haven’t been publicly announced yet, but they will early next week so we want to prepare you with some key information. More detailed information will be available in the next few newsletters as plans/details continue to get solidified.
The tours will start on Friday, July 12th, with tours happening at 5pm every Friday. Starting Saturday, August 3rd we will begin Saturday tours at 2pm. Tours will run for approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on group size, questions, etc. If there is substantial interest, multiple tours will happen back to back (so a tour will be at 5pm, then another at 5:45pm, etc.).
These tours will be free to the public, and no reservation or pre-sign-up is necessary. They will be offerred at the Tap Room only.
APPAREL PRICING/SALES
To streamline things, going forward all t-shirts will all be $21, meaning there will no longer be two price points. Hats will either be $10 or $25, if there is an exception, Beth will let people know beforehand. The new Fresh Flow koozies are $5.
There are cheat sheets for all staff available. In the Pub, these live in the blue binders in both server stations and there is one that lives behind the bar as well, on the cabinet door of the liquor cabinet. At the Tap Room, it is in one of the sleeves in the white binder. All FOH’ers are expected to be familiar with these sheets so that no errors are made in an apparel purchase. If there are any questions or you are unsure, please double check with a manager after referencing these sheets but before ringing anything up.
Also, Beth is still selling old apparel on Tuesdays, but outside of those times she would like staff to email her about apparel they are interested in Please do not go through any of the apparel area yourselves as some of it is not meant to be worn/sold at all. She is more than happy to help employees out with these items outside of Fire Sale times but would appreciate the communication for tracking purposes!

It will also be $7.50 per pour rather than $8.50! Once this officially goes into effect, Goody will let us all know!

Due to this, we will need to gather some information that we have not collected in the past. Please take a quick minute and fill out this form. PUB PREP KITCHEN/EMPLOYEE AREA REMODEL
As most of you probably know, the Pub will be remodeling the downstairs prep kitchen/employee area starting on Sunday, June 16th. The remodel will take a few weeks, and in that time quite a few things are going to be in different places. In general, company-wide everyone should know that the Game Room will be closed (it will be the actual prep kitchen space during the remodel), and the Brew Bar area will be used as the employee area. The Office will still be in use and accessible, as will the downstairs bathrooms.
Most of you will be getting the information that is pertinent to you specifically from your manager, but if you have any questions please ask said manager (or another manager for that matter).
This is going to be quite the undertaking, so please be patient as it happens. If you have any questions or concerns, again, please connect with your direct manager or Chris H.
EMPLOYEE RETAIL PURCHASING
Going forward, to make our ordering of apparel as accurate as possible, we are implementing a new policy. When new apparel is in the pipeline, a link in the newsletter will be available for at least two weeks that will allow for employees to pre-order apparel. There will also be a mock-up of the design so that everyone can have a good idea of what it will look like. If you fill out the pre-order form, you can get the apparel. If you do not fill out the pre-order form, unfortunately you will not be able to purchase the apparel when it arrives in house. The only exception to this policy will be new employees who did not have access to the pre-order form upon hire. We understand that this new policy will take some adjustment but it is our best move going forward for ordering specialty apparel as it allows us to avoid having too much left over or not enough to sell to the public!
If you have any questions, please let Beth know. And again, we’ll make sure to reiterate this policy and make it very clear when the time does come to pre-order! Thanks team!
FRESH FLOW DISCS
We have some sweet-a$$ Fresh Flow discs available for purchase at both locations currently! They are $20 a piece (no employee discount on these bad boys). Grab one today and get your disc golf on!
EMPLOYEE & MUG CLUB PACKAGED BEER PRE-ORDERS
For many of our monthly packaged beer releases we have been able to produce enough cans & bottles to accommodate all employees and Mug Club members no problem. Due to having a large enough supply, we are no longer requiring employees or Mug Club members to pre-order their allotments that get picked up on the Friday before the release. When releasing Brunch beers or limited specialty releases we will require pre-orders to ensure all members and employees are able to get their allotments.
Direct any questions to Goody!

EMPLOYEE RETAIL PURCHASING
We know there has been some confusion around the most recent Fresh Flow apparel release and the pre-order issue. We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration stemming from the inability of employees to purchase Fresh Flow apparel. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked all of the details out! After some discussion we have decided to now allow employees to purchase Fresh Flow apparel, as we want you all to have the opportunity to rock this new gear. Thank you for giving customers the first week to buy the new apparel, though - it is greatly appreciated!

JUNE PACKAGED BEER RELEASE
If you can believe it, it’s almost June, and with that means another monthly release! The link for employees to pre-order their allotment of Cassidy (June will be a bottle-only release) is now live, and allotments can be picked up on Friday, May 31st at the Tap Room. The public release will be Saturday, June 1st.
Our summer quarterly IPA (Fresh Flow what what!) will be released that Friday as well, which means the first-Saturday monthly release is bottle only. Cans of Fresh Flow will not be available for pre-order, they’ll just be available starting Friday for everyone (both public and employee and mug club).
Cassidy - Wild Ale with Flowers
Inspired by my daughter, this wild farmhouse ale was matured in Sauternes wine barrels with brettanomyces and then conditioned on spring flowers just before packaging. Cassidy is brewed each spring, bottled the following spring with honey from her Grandpa’s bee hive, and released around her birthday. Each bottle contains a portion of all previous years' blends. This bottle-conditioned ale is delightful fresh, and it will evolve beautifully as it ages alongside Cassidy. - Nick Arzner // 8% ABV // Price: $11.50 (price does not include employee 25% off) // 500mL bottle // Limit: 12 bottles
The link to order your allotment can be found here, and the deadline for employees to reserve their bottles is Wednesday, May 29th at 5pm.
Let Goody know if you have any questions!
FRESH FLOW COMIN’ AT YA HOT!
As noted above, Fresh Flow is being released next week! People were stoked on this beer last year, and no doubt will be stoked again this year. More info to come on the dope AF mountain bike release party being held down in Ashland, so hang tight! In the meantime, just let your mouth water as you think about that fresh, fresh Fresh Flow in a little over a weeks time!
EMPLOYEE FIRE SALES
Just an FYI Beth will be on vacation next week so she won’t be in the mezzanine as normal conducting her employee apparel fire sale. She’ll be back at it on Tuesday, June 4th when she’s back from vacation!
Have a good vacay Beth!
VEGAN OPTIONS
We’ve had some questions from customers (and we have a good number of vegan employees so this is helpful to you too!) regarding our vegan options at both the Pub and Tap Room. Sarah has come up with an overview of what is/is not vegan, in addition to some specially curated sandwiches at the Tap Room for folks to get.
One of the newer options we have is a tempeh add-on! What is tempeh (tem-pey), you ask? Tempeh is a cultured and fermented soybean product resulting in a firm cake. We buy ours from Surata Soy Foods in Eugene. We then marinate and bake it in house. It's a little sweet, smoky, and salty. It can get added onto any salad or pasta, or sub it for any protein on various sandwiches.
