ALL:

  • BLOKTOBERFEST is happening next week! Starting Monday the 20th, we will be doing our own week-long smaller celebration of Bloktoberfest at both locations. We will be serving our Bloktoberfest Marzen Lager in traditional mugs and have themed decorations. We will also have live music at both locations (Thursday through Sunday) as well as some awesome food specials! These three specials include the Festival Sausage Sandwich, the Harvest Burger and the Schnitzel (available in-house only). Bloktober themed outfits are encouraged, so feel free to pull out your Lederhosen and dirndls!

  • OSU HOME FOOTBALL GAME SATURDAY 9/18 AT 12:30. Be ready to rock as we serve that gameday crowd! On game days, you are more than welcome to wear BEAVER GEAR and support our Beavs while on shift!!

  • Starting Wednesday 9/15, we are launching our two new BBQ SAUCES that will be replacing our Bourbon-BBQ and our traditional KC. Our first new BBQ is a Carolina Gold BBQ sauce - a mustard-based BBQ (our spicier version). The second new BBQ is a Sweet KC sauce - a ketchup and molasses based BBQ (sweet and tangy). Make sure that when guests are ordering a chopped pork or tempeh sandwich, they are aware of the new changes in the BBQ sauce. If customers would like to try a taste of each of the sauces, we can always grab those for them from the kitchen!

  • Backup sauce fifo’s will be grouped together. When pulling a new sauce to the line, let’s make sure we are pulling the oldest

FOH:

  • Let’s make sure the till is closed after use each time now that it is more visible and accessible.

  • Even though we are out of Alpha on draft, the People’s Pint will remain Alpha. Customers can purchase a can in- house and a portion of the proceeds will still go to this month’s organization (Bard in the Quad).

  • Server trays will now also be located in the shelf of the inside host stand on the left-hand side. 

  • Focus Point: Tray usage. Make sure we are using a tray when carrying three or more cups. 

BOH:

  • When chopping pork butts, ask prep for the new procedure!!

  • Mac portioning. Two blue scoops of mac sauce and two tall bullets (2 ounces total) of sharp cheddar should be used when making mac.

  • Be sure to keep the METAL THIRD PANS out of the chef base. They are too big for the draw and cause damage. Thanks!

  • PREP: make sure your freezers are on and shut all the way.

  • Focus Point: Give more attention to cleaning and setup detail. Making sure the make table is getting wiped underneath, all scoops are taken back to be washed at the end of the night, checking to ensure the soup warmer is on, making sure pasta water is hot etc. Focus on double-checking opening and closing details.
