ALL:

  • A surprise beer collaboration with Great Notion is being released this Friday (date subject to change).! It is a smoothie beer

with peach, pineapple, apricot and lime. This delicious release is called Punch!

  • Corvallis Beer Week is happening next week. Block 15 was scheduled to do an event on Tuesday however with the rise in

covid cases we have decided to cancel it. Posters do not reflect this change so be sure to verbalize this to customers if they

    ask.

  • Septembeerfest is still happening and takes place at Avery Park on August 28th from 1pm to 7pm. We will have our own

booth there to sling some of our amazing beer. The shuttles will have stops at Squirrels, Common Fields and most likely

    someplace on N Monroe.

  • Turkey burgers will be coming back tomorrow 8/18. YAY!!

  • We have a new dishwasher starting tomorrow, say hi to Scott Samples! Welcome to the Block 15 Team!

  • Focus Point: organizing and putting things back where they go (if you pull out the ice cream, please put it back in the freezer

etc). We know it can get chaotic and busy at times but let’s make sure to clean up our messes and keep common areas neat

and organized when we are done. Thanks y’all!

FOH:

  • Hi Closers! When taking the dump bucket strainer back to the dishpit to get washed for the evening, lets run a few pitchers of

hot water through the tube in order to keep that line clear and free of gunk. Leave it back there for dish to run it through and

    replace it like normal.

  • Once Anne Amie Rose runs out we will be replacing it with a 2019 Dry Rose from Sweet Cheeks Winery located in Eugene.

This Rose is on the drier side and has nice fruity flavors of honeydew, raspberry and grapefruit.

  • Focus Point: day shift servers, let's make sure that the restock lists are getting filled out and picked in the morning and then

double checked at shift change. Picking the lists includes the bar list as well unless your bartender tells you otherwise. If we

are running low or out of something, let a manager know and it can be added to the order list.

BOH:

  • Let’s make sure we are changing the towels out on top of the chef base underneath the grill frequently as part of shift change

    or every couple of hours.

  • When we are pulling fifos from the prep walk-in downstairs, make sure we are grabbing the oldest date!

  • Garnishes: let’s make sure to refresh garnishes like lemons or cilantro every four hours or so. It makes a big difference in the

presentation and the freshness. Let’s cut what we need, don’t overcut or over prep garnish. The fresher the better!

  • Focus Point: scale and portioning awareness! Please continue to use the scales when weighing fries and make sure we are

still properly portioning out mozzarella. Thanks!

  • Focus Point: grill awareness. When cleaning the grill between rushes, let’s scrape the remnants into the trash and not down

    the hole on the grill.
