Yes, I know it is the spring and the rain seems to never quit, but here at the brewery we are already dreaming about hot summer days and warm nights. As the seasons change, so will our draft list.
We have a few exciting brews planned for the warm months. We will be bringing back our Honey Wit. I really love this brew, nice and crisp with the great aroma of citrus, coriander and bubblegum.
The Corvallis Knights baseball games will be serving our beer at the games, so we are brewing up a classic Kolsch recipe to be called “Summer Knights”. The Kolsch style originated in Cologne, Germany. It is an ale that ferments at lower temperatures, then cold conditioned. Kolsch is a clear beer with a bright straw yellow hue, and it has a prominent, but not extreme, hoppiness. In my mind, maybe the perfect hot day ale, and a great accompany to a ball game.
And finally, we are going to tackle a classic German/Mexican Lager “Cerveza Verano”. No, I’m not talking about Corona, bur rather an amber Vienna style lager the German Brewers made in Mexico during WWII (think more like Dos Equis Dark). This lager will be crisp and refreshing with hints of caramel and a smooth laagered finish.
Bring on the 95 degree days!
