Grab a bottle of history this Saturday November 20th as we release our first bottle offering, Figgy Pudding! Inspired by a 16th century English Christmas cake our Figgy Pudding is brewed with English Pale & Specialty malts & molasses and fermented with London ale yeast. After fermentation we matured Figgy Pudding in brandy barrels before conditioning with mission figs, Ceylon cinnamon and nutmeg; our idea of the perfect Holiday ale. At 11% alc/vol, Figgy Pudding is the perfect beer to age in your cellar and break out for special occasions.
Figgy Pudding will be available on draft and in bottles at our pub. The hand bottled, corked and caged 750ml bottles are priced at $14. As the bottle production is small (64 cases) I’m going to set a limit of four bottles/person for the first week. I do plan on taking a few cases and kegs to a few select Portland and Eugene bottle shops and tap rooms in the coming week.
Also, look out for Figgy Pudding Olde Stock at Portland’s Holiday Ale Fest . This version of Figgy Pudding was aged with English Stock Brettanomyces, lending subtle complexities and a drier vinous finish.
